Geocache Description:

A large container hidden inside the bird blind in the Babcock Woods.

Babcock Woods is an 80-acre, natural area located within the Waverly City limits. The woods contain 150-year old red oak trees and give a view of what Bremer County looked like during its settlement. This cache is located inside the bird blind, which can be used for bird watching. There is an easy trail leading to the bird blind, so there is no reason to step off the trail. Sprinkle some birdseed outside and settle in for a show.

Permission to place this cache was given by the Bremer County Conservation Board. Sometimes the bird blind can have wasps nests, so be aware of your surroundings when caching. This cache is almost handicap accessible, but there is a step to get into the bird blind and the latch requires two hands.

Babcock Woods is a Cache In Trash Out (CITO) area. Please collect garbage on your way to the cache site. Hunting is allowed in many Bremer County parks and all wildlife areas at certain times of the year, although there is no hunting allowed in Babcock Woods.
