This is a beautiful Bird Sancturary just outside Belvoir Forest about a 10 minute walk from Forestside.
It's hard to believe that this lake is so close to such busy roads and public, yet is hardly looked at. The RSPB is the largest nature conservation charity helping our towns, coast and countryside thrive with birds and wildlife. This lake off Galwally Avenue contains a huge variety of birds, but at the minute there's an adorable little Signet floating about with what looks like its Mummy and Daddy Swan! Be careful they can be very protective.
This is a Medium sized tablock box put just as you enter the lake, kept away from the water and from harming any of the birds.
When at this pond please be careful as there isnt a fence between the you and the ducks. There is a net up but I wouldnt test its security! Rain may make it mucky and slippy so dont go too close. However on a good day bring some bread and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
