Cache a Grande Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Nathanderthal: After careful consideration I have decided to archive this short-lived cache. The location has long been used as a dump, and there is someone out there either hunting or dumping every time I go out there. While it is still a great location for a cache that is easily concealed, it's probably not a good location for a large cache of this type.

Geocache Description:

It's a big one!

Casa Grande has lots and lots of great caches.  But more and more these days one is lucky to find one bigger than an Altoids can.  Don't get me wrong.  I have nothing against small and micro caches.  I have a few bison tubes and pill bottles of my own hidden around town.  But there's something special about finding a big cache that can hold a small child (that was not a recommendation by any stretch of the imagination).  I figured with a name like Casa Grande, this town should have a cache that can be considered "grande."  The cache is hidden in the closest thing that Casa Grande has to a wooded area.  There are several trails in, so just pick one.  Please be aware that this area is frequented by hunters (I ran into a couple while placing the cache), so make your presence know with noise and/or orange blaze while searching for this one.  The coordinates may not be dead on (the trees did a number on my signal), but should be within a few yards.  Once you reach GZ, just look around.  There's no mistaking it, and you really won't need to search.  The container is a 15-20 gallon steel drum (looks like a small oil drum).  My sons and I stocked it with an assortment of Hot Wheels cars, toy dinosaurs, and other toys to get the ball rolling.  There is plenty of room for more (please don't leave any small children).  The log book is a full-size composition notebook with a pen included.  Please pay attention when opening the cache and close it up the same way.  Watch out for thorns and desert critters.

FTF goes to CopperWings! Congratulations!
