Come and earn yourself a souvenir for your profile! Or come along because you care for the environment! Or because you love cake!
Coombe Hill is a large public access area that is available all year round, 24 hours a day. It attracts visitors from all over the world to stand and gaze in wonder at the view from the monument. It also hosts a number of geocaches, including the oldest cache in England, which the National Trust take great pains to help look after on behalf of the geocaching community. So this is a chance to give something back and help to keep the environment of Coombe Hill clear of litter.
This Cache In Trash Out (CITO) event will take place between 1.00pm and 3.00pm on Sunday 31st August 2014. Grabbers and bin bags will be provided, but please bring your own gloves if you have them. We will meet the National Trust ranger in the car park at 1.00pm, and (weather dependant) will meet up for cake on the picnic tables after we finish. Please bring cake to share!
Coombe Hill gets really busy with muggles at weekends and parking space will be limited. Please, if you can, either car share or use an alternative mode of transport to get to the event. There will also be a police anti-crime initiative taking place in the car park on the same day. The National Trust ranger has informed me there will probably be space for just ten cars from our group on the day.
Please post a will-attend log if you are intending to come, so that I can give the National Trust a fair idea of numbers for the day.
