Brookville Lake Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Ladybuggers!: I want to thank everyone who made the long hike to find our cache here at Brookville Lake.

We had thoughts of replacing it once again while we were out here camping over Labor Day weekend. But, with it's quick disappearance the last time and the fact that we live quite a distance from the cache, we have decided to go ahead and archive it. This will open up the area to someone else who might want to hide a new cache.

Geocache Description:

Back to Real Caching.

After a spring full of virtual caching, I thought that it was about time to hide another REAL cache. This one is no cakewalk. This cache is located on the Adena Trace trail that runs off of Fairfield Causeway Road. There is parking at the West end of the causeway. The parking coordinates are approximately N39° 30.364 W85° 00.104.

The trailhead is accross the road from the parking lot. You will see it if you cross the road and head toward the lake. There are narrow paths with many elevation changes. There are downed trees along the path, switch backs & creeks to cross. All the good stuff for great cache. Allow about 1 1/2 hours to do this cache.

The listed coords were provided by another cacher after using my old coords of N39 29.851 W85 00.341 and finding it within a wide wide search area. So I change the listed coords.

The cache is in a 50mm Ammo Box and loaded with stuff.

We got permission to hide this cache off of this trail. Please be sure to stay on the trail until you get within one hundred feet.

No Lead Piping! (for those of you not from around here, that means No Bushwhacking)

There is hunting in this area. Please be advised to check the hunting seasons and be careful. Here is a link to the Indiana’s Hunting schedule

Be aware that there are many deer in this area and with deer you get ticks. So, check yourselves good when you leave.

Good Luck and Have Fun.
