Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Bridges of Whitchurch Series.  We noticed a while ago that we have more than our fair share and they would create some good hiding places. Some of these can be done as cache and dash or as some nice circular walks in and around the town. Please park responsibly and take care crossing any roads.
This is the second in the series and can be done as part of an approx 3 mile walk around the southern part of Whitchurch and Tufton (Loop #1).
Leaving BBWB#1 walk along the B3400 a short way towards Andover, carefully cross the road after passing under the A34 Whitchurch by-pass bridge and follow the footpath. (Note, not suitable for buggies or wheelchairs). The cache is located under another unused GWR Didcot, Newbury and Southampton Railway bridge.  The railway was in use from 1885 to 1963.  Note that GPS was fluctuating under the bridge, but the cache should be an easy find. This is locally known as Kingfisher Bridge, right next to the River Test where Ron Eastman made his famous documentary 'The Private Life of the Kingfisher in 1966 and screened in 1967 as episode 144 of the nature series Look. This was the first BBC natural history film to be shown in colour. Filmed and directed by Ronald and Rosemary Eastman (Ron doing the photography and Rosemary the sound), written and produced by Jeffery Boswall, and narrated by Peter Scott.
Please take notice of any "Private" signs and do not wander into any places you shouldn't.
We enjoy reading logs, and would love hearing about the adventures you have when finding caches.
