Geocache Description:

PLEASE NOTE:  A watercraft is required to hunt these caches, they are only accessible from the river.

Welcome to the Yellow River!  This beautiful river begins in North Georgia and flows a whopping 76 miles!

Currently, 53 miles of the Yellow River have been designated as the “Yellow River Water Trail” with multiple spots to launch a canoe or kayak!

The Yellow River Water Trail (YRWT) has the right-of-way along this entire stretch of the river and they have granted permission for these hides.

You are searching for a 2.5” bison tube (camoed of course) that must be accessed by boat!

As far as coordinates go, we have worked hard to get the cords as close to the actual cache as possible.  This series has been hidden with GPSrs and for best accuracy should be seeked using a gps.  We averaged the coordinates for most of these so they should be pretty close.

Some of these are accessible only by boat and others can be grabbed from a sandbar, depending on water levels.  These are attached to branches, roots or vines with zipties.  Use your geosenses and look around carefully and you shouldn’t have any trouble finding them.  Be sure to look up, down and all around!

PLEASE do not over tighten the tops of the bison tubes, this will help maintain the integrity of the

o-rings and ensure that the logs stay dry.

At times, traffic will be heavy on the river, due to its popularity, so PLEASE use stealth when hunting these caches!  We want to ensure that they remain intact for everyone to enjoy!

Many areas along the river are not very deep.  You can see the sandy bottom during the majority of your trip!  Also, the current is not very strong/fast so you can paddle upriver and back!  Most of all, have fun and Happy Caching/Paddling!

Be sure to pack a lunch and bring plenty of drinks.  There are multiple opportunities to hop out onto a sandbar and relax, eat lunch and go for a swim!
