Visit Island Lake, a 344 acre lake with a maximum depth of 17 feet, located between Hurley and Mercer in Iron County. As a bonus to finding a cache and logging a smiley, fisherpeople might want to bring a boat, because the cache is located at the only public boat access for the lake. If you do want to fish, you can expect to catch musky, smallmouth bass, panfish, Northern pike and walleye. If you don't want to fish, you can bring a swimsuit for a fresh dip in the water, or your binoculars. Common Loons and Bald Eagles nest on the lake, and many other neotropical birds nest in the area.
You will be seeking a large size koolaid container very near to the parking area for the boat landing. Please be sure to rehide the container well, as this is a busy area during certain times of the year.
