Geocache Description:

Just a short walk from Patan Durbar Square, a stroll through the Sundhara neighbourhood brings you right to the heart of Newari culture.  With temples, Mala era water spouts, artisan workshops at every turn, be sure to bring your camera and let yourself get lost in this culturally rich and beautiful neighborhood.  After all, you have your GPS to guide you back again!

From Patan Sundhara (where the golden water spouts are found) continue down this main road, called "mangalbazaar to gwarko" on the map, towards the ring road.  You will find many stone carving shops on this road.  The cache is located at a stone carving apprenticing centre, where young carvers learn from experienced carvers.  Many carving skills are passed from father to son and whole families become carvers.  This cache is located above the carving centre sign, to the right as you are facing it. Please return the cache to a place out of sight; replacing it may require a bit of climbing to keep it out of sight of those passing by!
