Geocache Description:

This short no frills meet and greet is designed so those in Central VT can get two of the more elusive souvenirs close by.  This is a parking area just west of the Quechee Gorge earth cache (GC 1W5GE) with several picnic tables.  There'll be a log, some donuts, and a few TBs to trade. Bring your own beverage, and something edible to share if you like.   From 9:00 to 9:30. A.M.

The Seven Souvenirs of August rewards are given for finding all of the following: sp;

  • An  Earth Cache or CITO Event
  • An Event Cache
  • A Traditional Cache
  • A Virtual, Wherigo or Letterbox Hybrid
  • A Mystery Cache
  • A Multi-Cache

This short and simple meet and greet event is conveniently placed a short hop away from the Quechee Gorge earthcache.  The other four cache types are a cinch.  (There is even a Virtual within 20 miles if you need it.)

Having noticed VT didn't have many events scheduled for August, and those we have are pretty far north and pretty far west in the state, it was thought something central and east would be welcome. My first attempt at an event, so don't expect a study in grace. We're going minimal here. But you are welcome anyway!   There'll be a log to sign and space at the picnic table if anyone wants to trade TBs.  Bring your own thermos or cup of java or tea, or whatever.  I'll bring some store bought donuts or if I am really inspired, a coffee cake to share.  You can bring something to share too, but it is not required.  Just drop by between 9:00 and 9:30 AM.

You will be in the Quechee State Park picnic area. There is no fee to get in. The picnic tables are not reservable, but there are quite a few tables here, and we will be at one of them. In the unlikely event that a band of gypsies got there first, look for us in the parking area.   We'll be there, rain or shine. There is parking on either side of the road.

You can pick up your earthcache before or afterwards.  Just a few hundred feet away. Bring your camera!

If the weather is good some of us will be walking a 5k in Quechee just after this event.  You are invited to that too.  Ask me or cwgray about the walk, if interested.

Looking forward to meeting our friends in Central Vermont, or other souvenir hunters passing through!
