Geocache Description:

The series is MEANT to be easy and safe for night caching, the reflective rope is another extra "here I am" in the day light, so it is meant for those brave people willing to give it a try in the dark!! Bring flashlights! Placements are not in dangerous places or more than a few steps from the roadway. Remember to tell someone where you are going, how long you expect to be and take along emergency supplies. Car suitable. Cell service is spotty. ENJOY!!

All log papers are "Rite in the Rain", which needs a good pen. The ink will need to dry before re-rolling or it will smear. If the log is wet, wipe it off and sign. Within an arms reach of the container is a string of light reflective cord hanging in the tree. This is for night caching capability. The string starts off long, and gets shorter as you go and know what you are looking for. Each cache has 2 strips of waterproof paper. Each cache is wired to something to prevent theft by animals. There is a couple of trade items for the kids in the first cache and the last cache. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE TRAIL RATED? The freedom to go anywhere and do anything. The recognized standard for proven off-road capability. Trail Rated vehicles pass a series of grueling tests designed to prove off-road performance on the world's most demanding terrain. It must exceed set standards in the following categories. TRACTION Trail Rated 4x4s have enough traction and capability to climb some of the toughest terrain on earth. Testing includes traction on untamed, slippery roads (wet, mud, snow) and on steep grades. WATER FORDING The ability to cross a specific depth of water at a specific speed keeps you moving forward so you can cross streams and flooded underpasses. Your Trail Rated vehicle features additional electrical and body sealing, along with a high air intake for optimum water fording capability to ford Streams and flooded areas. MANEUVERABILITY The capability to navigate difficult terrain, precision steering, braking, gear ratios, and the ability to feather the accelerator easily to face the terrain you select to travel. ARTICULATION The articulation standard indicates that when one or more wheels are elevated, the 4x4 system helps the other wheels stay on the ground longer to keep you moving. Suspensions that enhance off-road performance by maximizing flexibility, axle articulation and wheel travel. It is the articulation that lets you cross logs, climb rocks, and rough steep hills. GROUND CLEARANCE Why prove that your Trail Rated vehicle can climb over obscenely large obstacles? Because one day when you need that capability, you'll know you have it. 4x4s are tested for ability to drive over obstacles or logs, or whatever else happens to be in your path, includes approach ( front clearance), departure (rear clearance), skid plates, high exhaust systems give you the required clearance. THE BADGE OF HONOR Serious off roaders can earn the Badge of Honor, earned by completing over 35 different approved trails across America. The Rubicon Trail is one noteworthy Trail. It is over 22 miles long, with 12 miles of the most difficult terrain imaginable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQCjOm4p5jM
