My nieces have discovered geocaching and today, on the way home from the Millport mega event, they insisted that we hide a cache to celebrate how much they had enjoyed their day.
This spot on the 'Red' road offers a lovely view over the island of Cumbrae and the lower reaches of the River Clyde and beyond. It also overlooks Routenburn golf course where I first learned the game many moons ago. Its a nice place to stop and just admire the view - nice day is better!!
There is a large lay-by opposite the spot with parking for a couple of cars. It's a single track road with a 30 mph limit. Follow it and it eventually brings you back to the main road at the Meigle.
I tried to persuade the girls to place it somewhere that required a bit of a long walk through rugged bog and heather but they refused. Their legs were too sore after their enormous cycle ride around Cumbrae - hence the cache'n'dash !!!
