Universally considered cute, this is one of my favorite visitors the the birdfeeder at home. The cap and bib are black, the cheeks white, the back soft gray, the wing feathers gray edged with white. Chickadees may be found in any habitat that has trees or woody shrubs, from forests and woodlots to residential neighborhoods and parks, and sometimes weedy fields and cattail marshes. They frequently nest in birch or alder trees. Difficult to separate from Carolina Chickadee, either species can learn the others call. I took liberty with the name of the cache to keep a color in the title.
This series continues in the spirit that the bird series placed by "honeychile" initiated. Her joy in the outdoors and a love of caching helps bring people here who might not otherwise have a reason to season their day with such simple pleasures. This series is a welcome for new visitors and welcome back to those who have been here before. Look for the caches, but don't forget to look for the birds and the other wildlife along the trail.
The cache contains a log only. BYOP.
