When the off islands were going to be connected to receive electricity this house in Menawether was the first house to be connected in the new system. ( the date may surprise you?). Apparently the engineers installing the system stayed at this house which is why it was the first house on the island to be connected.
There is a plaque on the wall of the old generator house. This had to be switched off and then the mains connected. It was Prince Charles who switched the system on.
The cache is a container in a camo bag and can be retrieved from the path. It is not in the wall or on the wall side. There is no need to leave the path. Please bring a pen to sign the log.
