Geocache Description:

A short walk around the other half of the Point Gellibrand Coastal Heritage Park.

It will take you about 15-20 minutes to walk, a bit less to ride. The whole cache can be completed on well formed paths. Each waypoint has an large sign which describes some of the history of the area, from which you require some information.
You only require the decimal part of the co-ordinates of the next waypoint as they are all S37 52 and E144 54.

All around the park has lovely views of the Bay and coastal regions. Try not to stare at your GPSr all the time.

WP1 - Point Gellibrand Coastal Heritage Park

In 18AB the appearance of the ship Manlius threw the small colony into frenzy.

Here at Point Gellibrand, Victoria's first permanent settlement and seaport were established in 183C.

It took 1DD days to sail across the globe and while at sea, anything could happen.

The next waypoint is at: S37 52.BCC  E144 54.ADB

WP2 - Environmental Pleasures

There is a Lava Blister here and an Earthcache by The Empire.

The next waypoint is at: S37 52.E(F-E)F  E144 54.(J+E)(J+H)(B-H)

WP3 - Protecting the Bay

A K-gun battery stood imposingly along a prominent bluestone wall that must have seemed impenetrable.
Erected on the 18LMs with prison labour and noted as Australia's first, the fort was the earliest defence against attacks on Melbourne's ports and shipping.

The next waypoint is at: S37 52.H(K/3)M  E144 54.(L/2)CC

WP4 - Prison Quarry

The narrow stretch of road between you and the sea is known as Battery Road. It was built with prison labour in the early 1N70s and the retaining wall, once a formidable P meters in height, was constructed with stone from the quarry.

Not counting Ned Kelly, how many other bushrangers were prisoners here = Q

Final - Have I been here before?

GZ is not far away at: S37 52.ENK  E144 54.QPD
