Geocache Description:

Jug City Cemetery's name derives from this area during the first half of the last century where many saw mills and grist mills were in operation.  Distilleries, blacksmith shops, pottershops and a school house were all apart of "Jug City."  This cemetery's first burial was in 1824 and the last burial in 1927.  Revoluntary War Veterans, and Civil War Veterans make up the burial ground. Looking towards the east, there is a white farm house that my grandparents have lived in since the 1960s. This farm house was built right after the Civil War and the families that have lived in this house are also buried in these plots. This area in South Leroy was part of the main route of the Underground Railroad. The cache is not on any headstones. Happy caching.
