Holy Rosary Cemetery - La Motte Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

iowaPete: Came out today to do a little Springtime maintenance, and discovered a disaster!

For those of you playing at home, the final for this cache was tucked into a corner fence post which was covered by a removable cap.

The fence is... GONE! And, so is the cache. Yikes! [:O]

Gonna put this one to bed. Nertz....

Geocache Description:

A quick 2-stage multi-cache.

Welcome to one of two cemeteries in the peaceful town of La Motte, IA. Holy Rosary Cemetery is place with a lot of history, and yet is still an active cemetery. A number of markers pre-date 1900, and a few have been placed within the last 5 years.

This 2-stage multicache requires you to find a marker and record a few observations. Stage 1 is at the listed coords. It is the tallest monument on the property. You will notice two benches. To find the final North coords, find Catherine and John. Subtract John's age from Catherine's age. Take the result and multiply it times 4. Then, take THAT number and SUBTRACT it from the stage 1 coords.

To find the West coords, consider Albert's birth year. Call that ABCD. Also, check out his year of death. Call that EFGH. The final west coords are 090 37.(H)(C)(H-E-D)

You are looking for a small plastic spice jar. There is a portrait of Thomas Jefferson inside as a prize for the first to find. As always, please respect the grounds and its visitors. Practice CITO where applicable and hunt for this cache only during daylight hours. Enjoy your visit to this peaceful location.
