Bucher's Mill is named for Phillip Bucher, who in 1851 purchased several acres of land along the West Tionesta Creek where the mill was to be located. In 1860, Jacob Knoph actually built the mill, but by 1866 he sold it to Phillip Bucher. Pine was mainly cut. In 1882, the Brown Brothers bought the mill , but within a few years they were in debt. Mill was mortgaged. In 1892, the Standard Lumber Company ran the mill, and by 1900 Ed Campbell purchased the mill and cut the rest of the timber. All that remains of the mill are crossbeams in the creek, but they can only be seen at low water times.
