We will meet at the base of the trail at 10am and do the usual event "stuff". After we have had the opportunity to meet everyone and figure out who's going in what vehicle. At 10:30 we will all line up at one end of the picnic area and walk to the other side picking up anything that is not native to the area(aka trash). Once we have cleared the base of the trail we will pile into the vehicles and start our ride up Palomar Mountain.
There are roughly 50 caches along the trail. We will be stopping to pick up caches and trash along the way.
At the end of the trail we will continue another tenth of a mile or so and place a CITO cache. This way other cachers will be able to keep the trail clean on the way out.
We will take a picture at the bottom and another on the top. Trash Bags will be provided, but it is encouraged to bring your own as well.
The road/trail is partially paved, 4WD vehicles are prefered. If you are willing to let other cachers pile in on the ride up, it is greatly appreciated. A full tank of gas is also advised. There are three seats available in the lead Jeep .
Although the meeting spot is a terrain difficulty of (1), the event will have a difficulty of (3.5) due to the trail we will be driving up.
