Geocache Description:

Welcome to Carl Schurz Park and The John Finley Walk! You're looking for a tiny, green magnetic capsule. Unfortunately, it can't fit anything other than the log, so bring your own pen. Parking close to the cache is scarce, so it's best to walk or take the subway (the 4/5/6 station at 86th Street is the closest). Try to be discreet, as there are many muggles (and muggle pets) nearby!

The promenade along the East River here is named after John Huston Finley (1863-1940), a professor of political science at Princeton University and the 3rd president of the City College of New York.

Our favorite East River fact: East River is not actually a river but a tidal strait that connects Upper New York Bay and Long Island Sound. Because its flow is controlled by the tides, the direction of the East River changes frequently. Take note of which way it’s flowing during your visit; it may be doing the opposite next time!

In your log, please let us know where you're from! We're always excited to see the people from all over our country and the world that the cache is bringing to our little corner of the city

Congrats to frank gentilella for being FTF
