På Julatorpet bodde i mitten 1800-talet familjen Falk, Anders och Ingrid med sina fem minderåriga söner. Anders led av lungsot och i januari 1868 avled han av sviterna. Ingrid stod nu ensam med fem söner mellan 16 och 4 år. Året blev ett missväxtår, och svälten var antagligen stor på Julatorpet.
15 maj 1869 har familjen fått hjälp av släktingar i USA och dessa har samlat ihop till sönernas biljetter, Ingrid får hjälp med sin biljett, enl Kommunalstämman, avsätts 40 Rd Rmt till änkan Falk.
Resan påbörjas och efter antagligen många och långa strapatser når man Chisago Lake, Minnesota.
Här byggs ett nytt ”Julatorpet” som blir deras hem ett tiotal år.
I början av 1880-talet erbjuder amerikanska staten nya jordbruksområden längre västerut, i South Dakota, bröderna fick var och en farm omfattande ca 160 hektar.

On Julatorpet lived in the mid 1800's the family Falk, Anders and Ingrid with her five minor sons. Anders suffered from tuberculosis, and in January 1868, he died of the suites. Ingrid was now alone with five sons aged between 16 and 4 years. Year was a crop failure, and famine was probably great at Julatorpet.
In May 15, 1869, have the family received help from relatives in the United States and these have accumulated to the sons tickets, Ingrid gets help with here ticket, according to Municipal Meeting, deposited 40 Rd Rmt for the Widow Falk.
The trip begins and it 's probably not easy, but they reaches Chisago Lake, Minnesota.
Their start the building of a new "Julatorpet" which will be their home for about ten years.
In the early 1880s, offers American state's new agricultural areas further west, in South Dakota, the brothers each received a farm of approximately 320 acres.
