Geocache Description:

This is our first cache. It is placed in Elba Park to help attract people to come along and enjoy the wildlife and the art work along the trails. Please note that after wet weather the ground can be muddy so take care. The cache is a small plastic container with a blue lid that contains a small gift and a photo of our very own Geo Dog!

The journey to find the cache is along well made gravel and tarmac paths towards the high point of the park. Along the way you may see  the wrought iron ‘miners' banner' sculptures created with children from Shiney Row, Burnside, Dubmire and St Michael's schools, a bridge with handrails made of miners' pickaxes, and a Miners' Memorial to commemorate the sacrifices made during 400 years of industrial activity on the site. There is also a lovely pond with nesting birds.

The cache is a small plastic container with a blue lid.
