Geocache Description:

A cache in the grounds of Ipplepen village hall. Please park on the road and not in the Village Hall carpark.

This cache is part of a series of caches which are placed at or near village halls and community centres and which the series initiator hopes other cachers will add to and expand into other areas. See the bookmark list for all the caches in the series.

The Village Hall was built in 1957 and is close to St Andrews church.

From Ipplepen Parish website:-

Ipplepen is a medium size village built on a limestone plateau south west of Newton Abbot. It has been developed from an ancient core around the church of St Andrews.

The name IPPLEPEN is thought to be Celtic and has been spelled in many different ways Ippelanpanna, Iplanpen (AD952), Ipplepena (Domesday Book),Ypplepen (1172), and even Hypelepenn and Uppelpen.

It is a busy hall, so evenings are probaby the better time to search.
