Viatape Town Cache
Vaitape is the largest and really the only town on Bora Bora.
The area around Vaitape has been home to Polynesians since the fourth century when they arrived on the island via canoe.
Nowadays the Vaitape harbour is the main stop for cruise ships and most other boats to the island. It's also the island's administrative center with several banks, a post office and a police station.
Home to a few dozen shops and a handicrafts market - selling signature souvenirs such as Tahitian black pearls, shell jewellery, colourful pareu beach wraps, wooden handicrafts and scented soaps and oils.
Vaitape is easily seen during a quick stroll. It is generally crowd-free, except when cruise ships are in port.
Cache is located 1 metre (3-4 feet) from the phone box in the tree
