Our first visit to Cuba, and we were excited to find that no one has ever placed a cache there! It was somewhat difficult to find a "traditional site" for the cache, since we were in Havana, but I hope you like the one we selected.
The cache is a fairly straightforward one in terms of terrain... but its going to be difficult to retrieve it without being observed. I strongly suggest going shortly before nightfall - pick a time that will give you sufficient light, but (hopefully) make you just a little less visible to the tourists.
My technique was to approach the site, sit down and pretend to take a few photos of the scenery. The cache will require some slight movement of a few rocks, but nothing too onerous.
I'm going to put extremely explicit directions in the hint, in the hopes of cutting down on searching time that may expose the cache to unwanted attention. Frankly, even if it disappears after the first "find" I'll still be happy to have gotten one in Cuba!
There is a large, obvious object at these coordinates:
N 23° 08.638
W 082° 22.780
I use this object as a landmark in my hint... just in case the coordinates are off (I had to do this QUICKLY you understand).
The hint will give you step-by-step instructions... you'd find it even if you didn't have a GPS with you.
2022 update - folks, my wife and I established this cache a long, long time ago. I'm in the US and getting to Cuba is a bit challenging these days. If anyone can maintain/update the cache I'd be very very grateful. Also, if anyone would like to post or send me photos I'd be very very happy to see them! :)
