The Allegheny Rangers love a good Road Trip! As we were moving down the highway, we started discussing our favorite Road Trip songs. Once we started a list, we came up with our favorites quickly. So what better way to celebrate good music than to place a series of caches? Here are our 63 favorites as selected by the crew. Complete the series and we will even send you a token to remember your trip! No order or ranking to the songs...just enjoy the ride :)
Copperhead Road is the title of a song written and recorded by American country music artist Steve Earle. It was released in 1988 as the lead single and title track from the album Copperhead Road. The song's narrator is named John Lee Pettimore, whose father and grandfather were both active in moonshine making and bootlegging in rural Johnson County, Tennessee. Copperhead Road was an actual road near Mountain City, Tennessee, although it has since been renamed Copperhead Hollow Road, because of theft of road signs bearing the song's name.
Most cachers have been on a back road or two that made them wonder if there was a still nearby.
Caches are along the back roads in and around Clarion County. There should be ample space to pull off the road, but be careful to consider traffic...even on these quiet stretches.
Congratulations to Indiana.Smith on the FTF :)
