Geocache Description:

A good book has no ending. Fortunately, the caching world is different! Mosey your way over to one of the new "art installations" in town. The clues you find here will take you to the cache's final resting place a short stroll away.

The geocache is not at these coordinates! However, everything you need to solve the problem is right here at your fingertips.

I've admired these new art installations as they've popped up all over town, but the ones in this neighborhood are my favorites (and are certainly the most detailed!)

The details:

  • Unless otherwise noted, the digits you seek are in the title
  • Also unless otherwise noted, each clue gives you a single digit
  • All volumes you’ll need to study are on the big (wide) side, not the narrow side
  • Shelves are organized from top to bottom (top shelf is #1, bottom shelf is #5)

Visit the site and fill in the missing numerals to find the cache!

A. 4th shelf, a book about the Rockies by Marsh
B. 4th shelf, the only book that has two (duplicate) copies. Last digit of the date it was published
C. 4th shelf, a “women’s” book by Elizabeth Fagg Olds
D. 3rd shelf, look for the fattest book on the shelf. How many W’s are in the title?
E. 4th shelf, a gray book by Saner about falcons
F. 2nd shelf, Two digits: a Montana volume that is just left of Just West of Yellowstone. Two-digit numeral in the title
G. 2nd shelf, Rockies book by Jensen (next to African Americans)
H. 3rd shelf, Two digits: In the Journals of Lewis & Clark series, which edition number is the Journals of Joseph Whitehouse?
I. 5th shelf, look for an art book in which every letter of the title is in a different color. What is the last digit of the century this book covers?
J. 2nd shelf, a slim Montana book by Kathe Lesage
K. 5th shelf, a red book by Sarah Thornton
L. 4th shelf, a “blue” book by Tony Horwitz: Number of letters in the second word of the title
M. 4th shelf: a white book by Billy Collins. How many words are in the title?

Final coordinates:

North AB degrees CD.EFF

West GHH degrees IJ.KLM

The cache is a short stroll away. If you're so inclined, leave an observation about the favorite volume you spotted at the puzzle site. Enjoy!
