My great grandfather came to Sheffield Beach in 1919 on holiday. Our family is still living here, and I decided to place this cache on the beach I grew up on, and still often visit. Dave's Rock, is the large flat brown rock at your 2 o'clock when you are standing at the cache site. It is a common place for rock and surf fishing. For light tackle fishing, try the gully directly in front of the cache site. If you see someone throwing lures wildly at the ocean, it is probably me!!! Park at the listed parking coordinates. From here it is an easy 200m walk. Take the public beach path straight down to the beach. From here, enjoy a walk or a swim. As usual be aware of Muggels, especially over weekend and school holidays. I would not recommend it at night as the area is quite secluded. Please note that there have been a few isolated incidents of cars getting broken into at the main parking lot. PLease don't leave valuables in the car.
