This is a multicache simply to preserve the integrity of the Echline Community Woodland. Although there are paths through the woodland, and there is no reason why you shouldn't have a pleasant wander through while you visit to obtain the coordinates, I didn't want to place a cache that may lead to a new path being formed, or damage to flora or fauna in this special location. Have a seat to enjoy the place while you do the sums.
The actual cache is a short distance away.
To get the cache coordinates, you need to have a look at the information board at the published coordinates. All the information is on the board.
What is the area of the woodland? 0.A hectares.
In the bottom left corner of the info board there is a map. To the left of the map there is a code for an aspect of the local landscape, one letter followed by three digits. The first digit minus the second digit is B. The final digit is D.
C = Add 2 to the figure for the percentage of the smaller trees section of the woodland made up by Holly.
Elder comprises a certain percentage of the shrub section of the woodland. This percentage is E0%.
The woodland was planted in 199F
The cache can be found at N 55 59.ABC W 003 24.DEF
It can be reached two ways, but is not accessible by a wheelchair user even though a wheelchair can get within a couple of metres. The hint makes it obvious where it is.
Please cover with freely available local natural litter once replaced to doubly make sure it is out of sight.
GZ can be a very Muggly area, depending on time of day and season, and the difficulty reflects this.
Many thanks to Queensferry and District Community Council and Echline Community Woodland Group for permission to create this cache.
Congratulations to The Searchdog for FTF.
