In this space you can run, you can hide, you can kick and throw a ball. You can picnic, you can sleep in the sun. A beautiful oasis in the middle of Epping!
Take a look at the War Memorial in the middle of the park. On 13 February 1922, a First World War memorial in the form of an obelisk was unveiled up the road in the middle of the carriageway at the corner of Bridge Street and Beecroft Road, Epping (just imagine the traffic snarl that would cause now!). It cost the public £476 and weighed 11 tons. The obelisk was moved in 1937 because of the obstruction to traffic and now stands here in Forest Park, Epping.
