The SR 520 Bridge Replacement and HOV Program is well underway and the Eastside Transit and HOV portion of the project brought with it a really nice upgrade to the Evergreen Point lid. What was once an ugly two-lane road is now a beautiful little park with lovely views of SR520, the SR520 Floating Bridge and Landings project, Lake Washington, and downtown Seattle.
The cache is a quick park and grab and is ADA-accessible. Park across the street in the Evergreen Point Freeway Station parking lot, which includes accessible parking. It is also reachable via transit using Sound Transit Express busses 540, 542, 545, 555, and 556, as well as 12 different King County Metro routes and Community Transit 424.
We recommend trying to find this cache around sunset. You'll get a nice view out to Lake Washington and seeing the sky change colour over the SR520 construction site is pretty cool.
