Geocache Description:

The Bourke Maritime trail goes through a section of the Darling River country opposite the Town. The road originally joined connected with a punt ferry that crossed the river where the Bourke Wharf is now located. This section of land was also the original Bourke Golf Course at the start of the century.

I love this gully country connected to the river as the undulations give the country definition not see on the open plains.

This is the first of the maritime trail caches/ There are 3 in total. I thought it best to start at the gate and progress from there. All this country goes under water in the floods so to keep anything safe it must be above flood height.
