Geocache Description:

This is an extreme two staged multi-cache placed in Mad River State Forest along McSpirit Road.  The final stage is near the peak of Wickwire Hill, which is a prominant feature of Camden's landscape.  This cache includes some steep terrain, so don't attempt it if you are physically unable.

To arrive at the posted coordinates, it is neccesary to first drive a few miles on a well maintained gravel road through Mad River State Forest from Florence Hill Road.  The cache can also be reached from River Road, though it involves wading across Mad River.  The posted coordinates will bring you to a regular sized peanut jar containing the coordinates for the final stage.  Please replace as found and do not write on the item in the jar.  Take a look at the interesting abandoned structure that the first stage is near.  There is a very steep incline leading to the final stage.  The container at the final stage is secured in its location with string.  A screw driver or pliers may be necessary to open the lid.  Sign the log, close the lid tightly, and find a place with a nice view.  You can see most of Camden if you can find an open spot in the treeline on a clear day.  Wickwire Hill is the 17th highest peak in Oneida County, at 1,070 feet. Have fun and good luck!
