Every Hamilton Ticat fan knows the cheer:
Oskee Wee Wee
Oskee Waa Waa
Holy Mackinaw
Tigers...Eat 'Em RAW!!
I learned the routine when I attended a few Hamilton Tiger Cat games years ago in the old Ivor Wynne stadium with Eagle Eyes and other local supporters. Pigskin Pete, a colourful Hamilton fan, used to lead the crowd in a rousing routine that centred on that cheer. It was a part of the game experience and was quite a lot of fun. Sort of like "The Wave" that cropped up years later.
Now the new Tim Hortons Field is about to open. Tomorrow is the first scheduled game against the long-time rivals, the Toronto Argonauts. But it's still not certain that the stadium will be ready in time. We hid this cache today and there's still a lot of work to be done. But for football fans or just plain geocachers, this can be a quick stop to find a cache and admire the new stadium. Free parking is available at the street to the west of the stadium (Melrose Ave. N.) but will probably be unavailable/restricted on game days.
As of March 9, 2017 the cache is no longer a film canister. It's smaller, and a little more difficult now. It's in a place that will be very busy on game days. You do NOT have to pay to get at this cache! Cache SHOULD be winter friendly, unless the snow is shin deep or more. Bring your own pen or pencil, and have fun!
You can leave the cache attached while signing the logsheet.
