In 1930, the Jewel Tea Company moved its headquarters and Midwest plant to this 211-acre campus in Barrington. It was used for more than 60 years before being sold to developers in 1996.
The neighboring residents rose up against commercializing the property, eventually leading to a citizen-driven initiative to turn the land into Citizens Park.
Today there are endless opportunities to exercise and relax in this beautiful park. After an easy stroll to this cache site you may want to sit for a bit to enjoy this peaceful view of the marsh lands.
The cache was initially stocked with two coins: one from Thailand and one from Kenya. This micro does not have a writing instrument so bring your own. There is a zipped plastic bag in the cache to help the contents brave the elements.
