Nothing says "Kansas City" like... well, see for yourself. This sculpture was dedicated in 1992 as the first piece of artwork funded by the "One Percent for Art" program, which requires all building projects undertaken by the city of Kansas City to set aside one percent of the total cost for art related to the project. It's 120 feet long, so you'll have a hard time missing it. :-) When originally installed, the sculpture blew steam as part of the display, but I don't know if it still does that.
Email me with the answer to this question: "How many animal cutouts are there, per side?" Either physical cutouts or individual animals represented by the cutouts will be accepted. To see what happened to some of the cutouts, travel a few blocks north to around Genessee and the I-670 bridge.
