Geocache Description:

It’s better to start you with a bluff

Start Inanna’s journey, (a little less tough)

A Babylonian cycle count

A gap to dismount

Here’s where it begins to get rough

Opposite the wisdom of Greeley

A fact that is known quite freely

Commentary, Justin Moore

Musically so pure

You should now be able to see me

After the Bow River Pathway was devastated by the Calgary flood in 2013, many geocaches in the area were wiped out. AltaGas IT teambuilding aims to repopulate some of these geocaches and create awareness around the 2013 natural disaster, while introducing geocaching as a fun activity.

The 2013 flood impacted Southern Alberta with impressions still lingering a year later, today. Five fatalities; over 100,000 people were forced from their homes; 75,000 in Calgary alone. Downtown Calgary was essentially shut down during this state of emergency and many communities along the Bow and Elbow rivers suffered major damage. Popular sites were ravaged including the Calgary Zoo, Saddledome and Stampede grounds. Through Calgary support and spirit, the odds were overcome and the annual Calgary Stampede still took place only weeks after being submerged in water. The Alberta flood has been ranked as Canada’s costliest natural disaster at an excess of $5 billion.
