Geocache Description:

Here is a cache series along the North Country Trail (NCT).

The entire trail starts in New York and ends in North Dakota.  America's longest scenic trail runs 4,600 miles and covers 7 states including downstate and Upper Michigan. After finding some caches in this area around the NCT, I did some research and was intrigued with this great Hiking Trail. This was our second hike along the trail and thought that it would be more rewarding to other cachers who love to hike and get some smileys along the way. We really enjoyed this hike with all the varying terrain and scenery.  This segment runs from Trout Lake Road to Lone Pine Road and was a total just shy of 8-miles long.  We left at 10:30am and arrived at 1:55pm a total of 3 hours 25 minutes at a gingerly pace and hiding caches along the way.  I wore long pants and a long sleeve T-Shirt  Although I know there are ticks, the three of us didn't have a single one when we finished.  We left our vehicle at the end and got dropped off at the beginning of the trail, bring plenty of water, bug spray, berry bucket, your GPS, and a camera.

We tried to space the caches about 1/2 mile apart, all of the caches are in very similar containers and hidden pretty much the same style along the trail. I tried to keep it pretty simple and the caches are all near a blue diamond that marks the trail.  We named most the cache series for the flora and fauna we experienced along the trail.  This series should be winter friendly as well.
