Gabby

Affectionately referred to as "Crabby Gabby", this little 4.5 pound girl was almost 17 years old when she crossed over. Gabby came to live here with the other Kountry Kats just over 3 years ago. She was rescued when it was learned she and her sister had been dumped near a farm by her previous owner when that owner could no longer provide a home for her. When she arrived she was very thin and dehydrated. We did plenty of tests and blood work but the vets remained baffled for a solution to her problems. (Lymphoma was the educated guess after ruling out everything else.) Gabby did suffer from Hyperthyroidism for which she received daily medications. It was a struggle since day one to help her feel better. We tried so many different things but nothing seemed to cure her ills. The little girl got her weight up to 7.5 pounds for quite a long time but this last year has been hard and she fell under the 5 pound mark in Jan. Over the last several weeks Gabby showed less and less interest in food, water, grooming and life in general. She seemed to be in pain every time we tried to pick her up and cuddle her so it was with tears and broken hearts we let her go.

Gabby was gentle, very loving and very affectionate. She loved to sit on our laps or between us and be petted. She slept with Sue almost every night, always snuggling close. She was also very stubborn and she had an incredibly strong will to live. She went through so much....but now has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Love you and miss you sweetie!
