Geocache Description:

MICRO WITH LOG ONLY, BYOP

Back in the year 1822, a trail led through the thicket here that led out West towards the bayou and the settlers walked right past this spot on the path to get water to drink.

One day IN 1902 a little boy called Rufus Jones came running scared back to his momma, crying and having lost the pitcher that his momma gave him to get water for dinner.
What happened?, said his momma..
The little boy replied, Momma, I was getting water out of the bayou and a pair of big yellow eyes came out of the water, it was a big big alligator, I was scared and I dropped the pitcher and I ran back home.
Momma says:  Oh Rufus, that old alligator has been there for many many years, he must have been just as scared of you as you were of it.
Rufus says:  Momma, if that alligator was as scared as I was, then that water is no good for drinkin...

Many years later the railroad came by and trains were a blowin their horns all the time so the residents complained thet they could not sleep, so they came up with a no horns regulation and placed this sign at GZ where nobody can see it because it is covered by foliage, because that is how smart our city council is,  to protect people from trains rushing by quietly at a level crossing that no longer exists. ( did I mention they were smart? )

So, to bring all this to your attention, we have placed this cache so you can experience the history and the reality of today and you no longer have to worry about the alligator.

CONGRATULATIONS RANDOMWAMPOLE FOR FTF AND IN THE DARK TOO...
