Geocache Description:

Legion Park is an undeveloped park in St Louis County.  It offers great views of the surrounding wetlands, and prairie grass fields.  There are plenty of opportunities here to view the wildlife.  Please stay on the trail until you are close to the geocache as some areas of the park are considered mitigation areas.

This is one of the more unique containers I’ve hidden.  The outside container is not waterproof but the inside container holding the log book is waterproof as long as the lid is resealed correctly.  Access the log through the door on the back of the container.  Small water proof TB’s may be able to fit inside along with the log but I would recommend they be placed into a baggie.  Remember to bring your own writing stick, and be sure to reset the cache as you found it.  Feel free to post the best pics of you and/or your group monkeying around.

This cache will take you just over a half mile from the posted parking.  Once you reached the posted trailhead, the trail will change from gravel to a grassy path.  This is a nice walk especially if you like being surrounded by nature without having to go too far out of the way.  Trails here are mostly flat and nicely wide.  The County Park Department does occasionally bring trucks and equipment down the paths so be aware even though it is unlikely you will encounter them.  If you do, wave as they are a friendly bunch.  Happy caching!

Congrats to Karen of Karen-Lonnie on the First To Find!

"Blanket Permission" has been worked out in advance with the park service. DO NOT CALL THE PARK as they cannot handle the calls. The Groundspeak cache reviewer does need to know exactly how and where the caches are hidden and what type of containers are used. The geocaching liaisons will notify the park service of new caches.
