Restin' in Maple Grove
(2 Stage Multi Geocache)
Maple Grove Cemetery is a nice little cemetery, easily accessed from Highway 30, three km's south of the Tim Horton's in Havelock.
This is a 2 stage multi geocache inside the Maple Grove Cemetery with a traditional container at the final that is big enough to hold small trade items and trackables.
The first set of co-ordinates take you to a headstone.
Look for the musical symbol of a treble clef. Read the verse that begins with the word, "Absent". Count how many words are in that verse (just the verse, not the reference). The number of words in the verse, MINUS ONE, is your missing blank for the location of the north co-ordinate for your final at
N 44° 25.1_0
HINT: The missing number is a single digit between 1 and 9.
Now add 71 to the last three digits of the north co-ordinate for the final and you will obtain the missing part of the west co-ordinate for the final at
W 077° 53._ _ _
For example:
If the verse on the headstone says, "Absent from us." That is 3 words.
THREE MINUS ONE EQUALS TWO.
The north co-ordinate for the final would be N 44° 25.120 and the west co-ordinate for the final would be 120 + 71 = 191
so W 077° 53.191
Please return the container to it's exact location and if you take something, trade even or trade up. You are not likely to encounter any muggles. Please be advised that during heavy snow, the driveways into the cemetery may or may not be plowed and Highway 30 can be busy. It might be best to seek this geocache in fair weather conditions.
