traffici.

This forest trail directly linking the country to the city Trebiciano. up area of
Trebiciano is news written in the early fourteenth century (Trebecanum) and the road follows
probably one of those paths which from time immemorial had been opened to the journey, the
meetings and also to the fighting men who attended first and then settled on the heights
Karst taking advantage of the mild winters, typical of the coast, to graze their herds.
The road, which descends quite steeply from the crossing point to the Trebiciano Location Baiardi and
Monte Valerio was, until the early fifties, hiked by local residents for
reach campaigns and quarries where lent their work or to transport in their city
pro ucts.
An important activity of the plateau consisted of the raising of cattle, sheep and cattle, with
the subsequent sale in the city of wool, cheese and milk. It was the milk to become the mid-
of the nineteenth century, the main business of livelihood of families and therefore, in the years
in Trieste which was enlarged and enriched considerably thanks to the expansion of port traffic,
This road began to be covered by the "women's milk." On this intersection
daily met many of these women who came from Trebiciano, and by Banne
by Conconello. Although these latter two countries the shortest path to go down in the city was another,
many of them preferred to lengthen the road, just to meet up with her ??friends who came down from
Trebiciano.
ll their work was very hard every day had to get up early to milk the cows or recover
milk from other farmers, prepare the jars and the particular basket ("plenir") that was filled with
vessels and possibly with other agricultural products. The women walked in groups and were usually
mostly barefoot in all weather conditions; some had a cart or a donkey,
that harness with the appropriate saddlebags could carry up to four containers of milk, but
usually the basket - which could even exceed 30 pounds - was worn on the head. each milkmaid
had its customers in the various districts of the town and the milk was sold door to door. For them there
there were holidays, Sundays, or even bad weather will stop or prevent diseases work:
women were milk every day with his basket on the way to the city. Then, when the
afternoon they returned home their work did not stop: it was necessary to wash the tools, milking
cows, carry out the work at home and look after the family.
The presence of women in the milk on a large road went waning in the early forties,
both because of the creation of a modern "Central Iatte" where the product was collected,
controlled and routed to the venditaal minutog-siat-the appearance of the first motorized me22I.
In the 60s he was made the new wide road no. 202, as best connosciuta
"Camionale" and, as for most dele streets that connected the plateau to the city,
also the "milky way" finally lost its commercial and was abandoned by
trades.
