Game farm park is built on wild game refuge property originally owned by the King County Game Commission. In 1933, ownership was transferred to the Washington State Department of Game. It was an experimental facility for bamboo partridge, quail, ringnecked pheasants, tinamou and other exotic birds. The City of Auburn signed a long-term use agreement in 1984 which provided that the City cooperate with the State Parks to develop the 160-acre site as a park.
I have several caches in this park,but all are evil and/or small,I've been wanting to place a kid friendly cache for the rookie geocachers in our lives to enjoy and fill it with swag designed for them.Having 6 grandkids myself that I watch get so excited when they find that cache full of toys is so much fun I figure I should do one myself. Please help me keep this kid friendly and be sure to bring the rookies with you on the hunt,after all they are the the future of Geocaching. be sure to trade items so the kids keep an inventory going,It will be necessary to have an adult along to remove and replace the camo,unless of course the rookies are super human.
Please be sure to cover cache up well to avoid the muggle traffic by the rivers edge
Please note:the embankment can be slippery if you come from above
Use the waypoint for the Lower trailhead for easy access to cache area.
Conrats to CDP2004 for what had to be a tough FTF in the dark.Happy 35th Birthday too
