To solve this puzzle cache, you will be conjuring up the dead.
When I was a child, my older sisters had a Ouija board and we used it at sleepovers and parties for fake séances for the purpose of having a great time spooking ourselves. There was nothing supernatural or evil about our behavior. It was simply fun.
From Wikipedia: The Ouija board (/ˈwiːdʒə/ WEE-jə), also known as a spirit board or talking board, is a flat board marked with the letters of the alphabet, the numbers 0–9, the words "yes", "no", "hello" (occasionally), and "goodbye", along with various symbols and graphics. It uses a planchette (small heart-shaped piece of wood or plastic) as a movable indicator to indicate the spirit's message by spelling it out on the board during a séance. Participants place their fingers on the planchette, and it is moved about the board to spell out words. "Ouija" has become a trademark that is often used generically to refer to any talking board. Following its commercial introduction by businessman Elijah Bond on July 1, 1890, the Ouija board was regarded as a harmless parlor game unrelated to the occult until American Spiritualist Pearl Curran popularized its use as a divining tool during World War I.
So that's it. Nothing scary about it.
Funny coincidences came up when I was putting this cache together. First of all, I created this cache based simply on finding a certain cache container. I felt strongly that it needed a puzzle. Then I spent some time googling how to create the puzzle and when I was googling, I found that a puzzle had already been created for a geocache in North Carolina. Well, you know how wonderful some cacher owners are, right? This cache owner was happy to have me use the same style puzzle. He even helped me with tips on making the puzzle and told me about an ending twist on his puzzle. And in a funny coincidence, he created his puzzle because he had found the same cache container!
When I was working on a twist of my own, I came across the perfect location and there were more strange coincidences. In particular, the words "divine", "Desmond" (a recent America's Got Talent supernatural character-Hi Alex!) and the same type container come to mind. I found it very strange and thought it was a bit like fate.
I hope you enjoy the puzzle and it is meant to be pretty simple, but if you are a new cacher and you need a nudge, I'm willing to help after the ftf is logged.
Thanks to rvstauff for his help...you are awesome. And thanks to Greenback who just said "sure!" without knowing all the details.
Congratulations to Greenback for Ftf!!
Enjoy!
