Not only is this where the bugz will begin their journey, it will be a great opportunity to say hi to lots of local Geocachers that you may know or may not have met yet. NOTE: You don't have to bring a Travel Bug to attend/log the event.
The event will end promptly at noon, when you can commence your regularly scheduled Geocaching activities. 
This event will mark the kick-off and starting point for a year of fun to see the wonderful places our Travel Bugz travel. To keep it interesting, PKarin and I will host an update event in 6 months to provide status on the bugz and to award some mid-way prizes. We will also hold an event in October 2015 (date TBD) to provide the final tally of the bugz' journeys and award final prizes.
RULES
1. This is a bug-themed event. The traveler must be some kind of insect (walking, crawling, flying, etc.) ... but not a REAL insect, ok? For example, you could attach a rubber spider to a Travel Bug dogtag (also known as a TB). Or, you could etch an activated TB number onto the back of a wooden beetle. Or you could enter an insect-themed GeoCoin. No Volkswagen Bugs!
2. Your TB must have no mileage on it when you drop it off at the event. You can log your bugz into the event before you visit, or give it to PKarin or I and we will grab it from you and drop it in the event. The bugz will be moved to a starting point (a TB hotel cache, location TBD) shortly after the event, so that they all have the same starting point.
3. If you cannot attend the event but wish to participate with your own bugz, please contact PKarin or I ahead of time to arrange for delivery/pickup of your traveler(s). Any TBs participating in this race must be received on or before October 18, 2014 at 12:00 noon.
4. You may enter up to 3 travelers per person in this event. Since a single caching name can equate to more than one person (for example, a caching family of a father, mother and child), each individual may enter up to 3 TBs. Please indicate in the bugz' description which family member the TB is associated to.
5. Prizes will be awarded for adults (16 and older) and kids (under 16) in a variety of categories. To help spread the fun out, we will share what these categories are as the bugz undertake their journey.
(Okay, we will tell you TWO of the prize categories: Distance Traveled and Photographs Uploaded. But that's it...the others will remain a secret for just a little bit longer.)
6. The name of your trackable must have the following code in it somewhere: BUGZVENTURE
This will allow everyone to easily search for all trackables on their journey, and make it easier for PKarin and I to provide status updates on how the travelers are doing, where they are, etc.
7. Don't move your own bugz. If you come across your trackable in a cache, please leave it for another cacher to find and move along.

This should be a fun journey for giant spiders, mutant flies, army ants, and everything else you come up with to turn into Travel BUGZ. We look forward to seeing you at the event, and watching the progress of your bugz.
