Geocache Description:

A well-maintained cemetery with graves dating back at least to 1830. A Civil War soldier killed in action rests here.

Several of the survivors of the Sullivan Army, scouts of which were ambushed and killed at the nearby Ambuscade, liked what they saw in the Conesus Lake area and returned to the vicinity after the Revolutionary War was over. Three of them are buried here: John Salmon (1760-1837), John Wright (1763-1847), and Albert Acker (1757-1832).

Also buried here is Joanne Lynn, abducted and murdered at age eleven in 1949. Her murder is still officially unsolved. A man arrested forty years later in Pennsylvania for murdering another child was suspected of killing Joanne, but he died before he could face trial.

Please be respectful. The cache is not on or near any gravestones. Hours are 7am to dusk. NO Night Caching! Enjoy the views. Please replace the cache with the cap down. Bring a pen, as pencil will not work on the water-repellent log.

Congratulations to Chinsplinter&mom for being the First to Find!
