Geocache Description:

A cache with an iconic view.

This cache is not really hazardous to your health or safety! But when presented with such a sensational view we just had to incorporate it into the name somehow, and "A view of the Hazards" just didn't have the right ring. The Hazards are a chain of mountains in Freycinet National Park and are named after an American whaler, Captain Richard Hazard who operated in the area around 1824. From left to right they are Mts Parsons (the small one), Dove, Amos, and Mayson. The walking track to the even more iconic & sensational Wineglass Bay threads between Amos & Mayson and there is also a track to the top of Mt Amos. Although all of what you see before you is within the national park (entry fees apply), access to this view & the cache is totally free.

You can access the cache from several directions but we parked near the boat ramp and walked along the foreshore.
