International EarthCache Day is the first Sunday of Earth Science Week, and this year will be celebrated on October 12, 2014. Events all over the world will be helping to get cachers involved in this fun and educational part of geocaching. For more information about the EarthCache program visit EarthCache.org

- WHO: Experienced EarthCache veterans, cachers who have always wanted to do an EarthCache but haven't yet, or cachers who have never even HEARD of EarthCaches - all are welcome!

- WHAT: There will be a presentation about EarthCaches - their history, their purpose, how to prepare for your visit to one, how to log, and even how to create and submit your own! Cachers are encouraged to bring their stories of doing EarthCaches, and we can discuss what makes a good EarthCache. We can even talk about earth science in general. Bring your questions!

- WHERE: Lost Spring shelter in South Park. The given coordinates are for the pavilion, and parking is located nearby.

- WHEN: Sunday, October 12, 2014. The event starts at 1:00 PM and will last until 2:30 PM. After the formal presentation and Q&A, cachers are invited to take their newfound knowledge and go for the new EarthCache nearby. (Logging the EarthCache is not required for logging of the event.) Doing the EarthCache should take less than an hour.

- WHY: It's International EarthCache Day!!! There are also plenty of caches in this park, and more near-by. ALSO, this year Groundspeak is awarding a souvenir to all cachers who log an EarthCache today. So, come on out!!!!!
