The Church was built in the middle ages on an islet omfluten of Ätran and at Lake Lönerns north end. Protected mode meant that the Church in the middle ages could be used as a haven in troubled times. The church building's eastern part with the choir were expanded in 1741, then were added also the porch of the wood.
The Church's oldest inventory is the medieval baptismal font made of stone, a reredos depicting Christ on the cross and two female figures on both sides, donated by the lawspeaker Johan Timell in 1792, at the old stenaltaret. Number Board is Gustavian style with holder in the shape of an upward hand. The organ from year 1927 is built by Herman Nordfors & Co. in Lidköping and includes six meetings. In the belfry is a medieval Bell and one from 1699.
